Henry Gambrell
Donalds – Henry Albert Gambrell, 61, widower of Cathy Cooley Gambrell, of 254 Williamson Hill Rd., died Thursday, February 1, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Anderson County he was a son of the late Henry Haywood and Mary Elanor Moon Gambrell.
Surviving are two sons, Josh Gambrell of Honea Path and Rickey Gambrell of Anderson, two brothers, William Charles “Dickie” Gambrell and wife Wanda of Honea Path, Ronnie Gambrell of Donalds, two sisters Stella Gambrell and Glenda Ford both of Honea Path, and two grandchildren, Oston and Jackson Gambrell. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Robert and Rickey Gambrell and a sister Sandra Jennings.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rickey Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

Bill Chapman
St. Petersburg, Fl. – William “Bill” Harold Chapman, 91, widower of Ola Mae Beasley Chapman, of 109 34th Ave. North, died Monday, January 30, 2012 at his home.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Albert and Naomi Kinard Chapman. He was a member of Calvery Baptist Church of Williamston and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II. He was a retired contractor.
Surviving are three daughters, Gale Glancy and husband Tom of Mableton, Ga., Betty Walsek and husband. Ted of Gulfport, FL, Patricia Minor and husband, Dan of Maple Valley, WA, three sisters, Elizabeth Eskew and Irene Darby, both of Williamston, and Evelene Caldwell of Belton, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Clyde Chapman and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Chapman officiating.

Ware Shoals – Jimmy Dale Koon, 62, husband of Marie Hitt Koon, of 26 North Greenwood Ave. Ext., died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at his home. He was born in Greenwood County, a son of the late George Ryan and Lillian Shealy Koon. He was a member of First Damascus Baptist Church, a former member of Ware Shoals United Methodist Church and was formerly employed by Maxxim Medical as Quality and Production Manager.
Surviving are his wife of the home, two sons: Jacob Dale Koon of Ware Shoals and Larry Fulton Hudgens and wife Aletha of Ware Shoals; one sister, Emma Koon Camak and husband Pitts of Ware Shoals; a sister-in-law, Norma Koon of Anderson,; three grandchildren, Chloe Koon, Christina and Caleb Hudgens; and many special nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother, George Koon.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 P.M. Tuesday at Ware Shoals United Methodist Church with Rev. Tina Thomas, Rev. Billy Reynolds, and Rev. Kevin Carter and Mr. David Hitt officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Ware Shoals – Ann Ellison Lake, 82, wife of Dr. John H. Lake, of 38 E. Summit Dr., died Sunday, January 22, 2012.
Born in Easley, S.C., she was a daughter of Clarence Matthew and Catherine “Kate” Mullinix Ellison. She was a graduate of Easley High School and Columbia College where she earned her degree in Library Science. She taught school and served as librarian in the Columbia, Ware Shoals, and Montgomery, Alabama areas.
Mrs. Lake was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Ware Shoals where she taught the Ladies’ Hebron Bible Class for several years and sang in the choir.
She was a Past President of the South Carolina Dental Auxiliary, served on the Heritage Corridor Board, and was a member of the Ware Shoals Women’s Civic Club. She also served on the Board of Visitors at Winthrop College.
Mrs. Lake was an elegant lady and a warm and gracious hostess to all who came to her home.
In addition to her husband of 59 years, Mrs. Lake is survived by her two sons, John Campbell Lake and wife Debbie of Ware Shoals, and Matthew E. Lake and wife Tracey of Easley as well as seven grandchildren, Katie Lake Pulley and husband BJ of Greenwood, Dr. John C. Lake, Jr. and wife Katherine of Honolulu, HI., Anna E. Lake, JD of Washington, D.C., Dr. Will Lake of Charleston, Zac Lake of Ware shoals, Samantha Lake and Audra Lake, both of Easley.
She was predeceased by a brother, Melvin “Doc” Ellison, and two sisters, Sara Pitts and Elizabeth Ellison.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 2 P.M. at Ware Shoals First Presbyterian Church. Committal services will be held at 4 P.M. Wednesday at Whitmire City Cemetery.
