Ware Shoals – Americo Caprini, 84, of #19 North Riegel Avenue, son of the late Frank and Louise  Caprini, died Thursday March 19. 2015 at his home.

Born in Pittsburg, PA.,  he had served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He was a member of the West Main Street Church of God, and the Men’s Bible Class there. His adopted family was George and Carol Johnson and their children, Heath Burton, Kara Sprouse, and his special grandchildren, Caleb and Cole Burton and Aiden and Anna Doyle. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Arthur Quales, Sr.

Honea Path – Arthur Leverne Quales, Sr., 76, husband of Jane Carpenter Quales, of 605 Sherwood Ave., died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at his home.

Born in Bristol, TN, he was a son of the late Charles Woodrow and Opal Marie Stamper Quales, Sr. He was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church and was an 11 year veteran of the Virginia National Guard. He was retired from Old Dominion Freight Lines.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 53 years of the home are: two sons, Arthur L. Quales, Jr and wife Donna and Michael E. Quales and his companion Colleen, all of Charlotte, NC, two sisters, Shirley Q. Blackmon and husband John of Newton Grove, NC, and Mary Q. Blackmon and husband Thomas of Chesapeake, VA, five grandchildren, John Michael, Matthew, Christian, Reid and Marcus Quales, five great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Woodrow Quales, Jr.
