Born in Ware Shoals, he was a son of the late Sam and May Taylor Boggs. He was a member of Hodges Church of God and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War. He was retired from Milliken Sharon Plant and had worked at Riegel Textile Co. for 48 years.
Surviving are his wife of the home, a son, Jimmy Boggs (Sandra) of Donalds, two daughters, Sandra Anderson (Johnny) of Ware Shoals and Ann Smith (Ron) of Belton, a brother Cecil Boggs (Susie) of Ware Shoals, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by two brothers Clarence and Taylor Boggs and a sister Julia Mae Young.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Thursday at Hodges Church of God with Rev. Earl Quick, Bishop Ray Boggs, and Rev. Charles Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
