Laurens – Tommy Cook Snyder, 66, of 5 Hansen Circle, died October 11, 2011 at his home.

Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Thomas Calvin and Willie Mae Cook Snyder. He was a member of Waterloo United Methodist Church and had been employed by Flour Daniel.

Ware Shoals – Cynthia Elizabeth Ellis Brown, 61, wife of John Brown, of 11 Pineview Drive, died Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Clifford (Click) Ellis  and Jane Cheatham Ellis. She was a member of the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church and was a former teacher at Sanders Elementary School of Laurens.

Surviving are her husband of the home, a brother, Clifford (Bubba) Ellis, III of Warrenville, and a special cat, Hope Margaret.

Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday at Ware Shoals Cemetery with Rev. Leon Jones and Rev. Margaret H. Jennings Todd officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside. Ware Shoals – Joseph Grady Davis, 64, of Holloway Rd., Ware Shoals, died  Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at his home.

 Born in Ware Shoals, he was a son of the late Grady and Merle Morgan Davis. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a retired owner of  Joe Davis Garage. He was a Mason and Shriner.

 Surviving are a son Jeff Davis of Ware Shoals, a daughter, Barbara Davis Cox and husband of Wyomissing, Pa., a sister, Mary Henderson and husband Casey of Ware Shoals, and three grandchildren, Cody Cox, Chandler Davis, and Chelsea Davis. He was pre-deceased by a brother, John Frank Davis and a sister, Lois Boone.

 Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Byron Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

WARE SHOALS, S.C.- Robert Eugene “Gene” Holley, Sr., 72, of 842 Turkey Creek Road, Ware Shoals, husband of Faye C. Holley for 54 years, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, October 4, 2011.

Sara Beeks Stafford, 95, formerly of Route 1 Ware Shoals, widow of George L. Stafford, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011 at White Oak Manor in Charleston, S.C.

Ware Shoals – Gary Wayne Melton, 51, of 14 Balentine Dr., husband of Etta Harris Melton, died October 1 at Hospice House of the Piedmont.

Ware Shoals – Carolyn Annette Trupia, granddaughter of the late Hayward and Sybil Alverson died October 2 at the age of 47.

Waterloo- Bobby Martin Allen, 76, of 104 Allen Rd. died September 29 at Hospice of Laurens.

Laurens – Mrs. Opal Ann Thomason Rousey, 68, of 301 Hanks Rd., died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Saluda Nursing Home.
