Catherine T. Cothran

Catherine Turner Cothran, 85, widow of R.E. Cothran died March 23, 2010 at Self Regional Medical Center. She was born in Laurens County, a daughter of the late Edward S. and Jesse Burdell Turner. She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and was retired from Tavern Sportswear.

Surviving are: one son, Jimmy Cothran and wife, Shelby, Elberton, Ga., two daughters, Janice C. Holtzclaw and husband Ralph, Ware Shoals and Susan C. Evans and husband, Donnie, Joanna, SC, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, 11 am at Harmony United Methodist Church with Rev. Tina Thomas and Rev. Fred Treaster officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Cole, Tony Holtzclaw, Scott Mabrey, Hunter Holtzclaw, Kevin Evans, Brian Edwards.

The honorary escort will be members of the Ladies Sunday School Class.

The body will be placed in the church at 10 am Thursday. The family is at the home of Ralph and Janice Holtzclaw, 7982 Ekom Beach Road and will receive friends after the service in the Social Hall.
