JENNINGS F. O’DELL

Jennings F. O’Dell, 87, husband of Evelina Culbertson O’Dell of 87 Martin Road died March 9, 2010 at Self Regional Medical Center. He was born in Laurens County, a son of the late James Furman and Nannie Mae Martin O’Dell.

Mr.O’Dell served in the Army in the European Theatre during WWII and was retired from Southland Insurance Co. He was a member of Mt. Gallagher Baptist Church and the Brewerton Masonic Lodge.

Surviving besides his wife of the home are two daughters; Miriam “Midge” Hill and husband, Dr. Joe Hill of Athens, Ga. And Kathy O’Dell Koons and husband Robert of Maddisonville, Tenn.; two brothers, Donnie O’Dell, Ware Shoals and Tommy O’Dell, Greenwood; one sister, Ruth Ann Chastain, Ware Shoals and grandchildren, Scott Pilgrim, Crystal Pilgrim, Angela Fournier and Jed Hill, also six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, 3 pm at Mt Gallagher Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Marcus Bishop and Rev. Chris Hudson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Paul, Brad, Steve, Jeff, Robbie and Mark O’Dell.
Honorary escort will be members of Men’s Sunday School Class, Bennett Medlin and Roger Martin.
