Murial “Sis” McClain

Honea Path – Murial Iola “Sis” Ashley McClain, 86, widow of Robert A. McClain, of 224 Wildwood, The Maples, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 27, 2010.

Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late George Thomas Joshua and Bertie Iola Smith Ashley. She was of the Church of God Faith and was retired from Chiquola Mfg. Co.

Surviving are a step-son, Roger A. McClain of Corvina, Ca., a sister, Clarice “Tuze” Lollis , three grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by 5 brothers, Edgar “Dock”, Kimsey “Wart”, Sloan, Wylie, and Joe Ashley and 6 sisters, Fannie “Bunt” Webb, Gladys Cooley, Dempsy Young, Gertie Branyon, Lottie Ashley, and Ruth “Monroe” Richey.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Shuler and Rev. Boyd King officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 PM Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service. The family is at the home of a niece, Diane Hill, 105 Orr St., Honea Path. I want to express my love and appreciation to Mark Willis, Nancy Fleming, and her staff, Jerry Pickens and his staff for all the kindness they showed her while at The Maples.
