Edith Parker

Honea Path – Margaret Edith Cowan Parker, 98, widow of Carl Newton Parker, formerly of 842 Due West Road, died Monday at NHC of Anderson.

Born in Anderson County she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Wright Cowan. She was a homemaker and a member of Barkers Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Carl William Parker and wife Tillie, and Jerry C. Parker and wife Sheila, all of Honea Path, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Elmer Cowan and Jim Cowan, and a sister, Hazel Cowan.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday at Barkers Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Wednesday at Barkers Creek Baptist Church prior to the service. The family is at the home of a son, Jerry Parker, 1509 Austin Rd., Honea Path. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com
