Ware Shoals, S.C. Josephine Moore Young, 90 of 24 Circle St., widow of I.B. Young, died Thursday at Self Regional Medical Center. She was born in Greenwood County, a daughter of the late James Benjamin and Fannie Langley Moore. She was retired from Riegel Textile Corp. and was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, James B.”Jim” Young and wife Anne, Powdersville, S.C., Garvin “Sonny” Young, Greenwood and Eddie B. Young and wife, Diane, Shoals Junction, also seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and on great great grandchild.
She was pre-deceased by five sisters, Louise Richardson, Sarah Dow, Mattie Miller, Lillian Doolittle and Ila Walker, a half sister, Eva Ashley and half-brother, Ed Moore.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, 2 pm at Ware Shoals First Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Matthew Cogburn, Andrew Cogburn, Steve. Kit and Nick Young and Bubba Wagner.
The Mary Martha Sunday School Class will sit as the Honorary Escort.
The family will be at the home of Chris and Meredith Ashley, 1018 Smith St. ext. and will receive friends at the church Saturday, 12-2 pm
