SUE BUTLER


Ware Shoals - Corrie Sue Poore Butler, 97, widow of Ollie M. Butler died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Emerald Gardens Assisted Living. She was born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late Jesse E. and Hattie Chasteen Poore. Mrs. Butler was a retired seamstress and was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are: a son, Henry W. Butler and wife Shirley of Ware Shoals and a daughter, Shirley Chasteen and husband Charles of Ware Shoals, four grandchildren; Deborah Ellison and husband Alvin, Steve Chasteen and wife Susan, Richard Chasteen and wife Linda and Eric Butler and wife Angela, eight great-grandchildren; Hannah Butler, Allie Butler, Jeff Ellison, Jenna Rawe, Mark Chasteen, Tracy Chasteen, Charli Chasteen and Drew Argo, two great-greatgrandchildren; Landen Chasteen and Bradson Chasteen. She was predeceased by five brothers; Holland, Woodrow, Francis, Casper and Gaston Poore.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 PM Saturday at Turkey Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens

Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lenora Butler, Katherine Gambrell, Billy Lagroon and family, Ansel Lagroon and family and the ladies of the church.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends 2-3 PM Saturday at the church.
