Mary Atkins

Honea Path – Mary Elizabeth Robinson Atkins, 76, wife of James William (Billy) Atkins, of 3 Pinetree Dr. died Sunday December 20, 2009 at her home.

Born in Anderson County she was a daughter of the late J.H. and Mamie Smith Robinson. She was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church where she was active in the Ladies #3 Sunday School Class and the Thirty-Niner’s. She was retired from Huggins Garment Company.

Surviving are her husband of the home, a sister, Martha Butler of Honea Path, a sister-in-law, Lorraine Robinson of Williamston, two nephews, Charlie Robinson of Honea Path and Mike Butler of Powdersville, two nieces, Debra Robinson of Charlottesville, Va. And Donna Robinson of Williamston, and a special Great Niece, Elyse Butler of Powdersville. She was pre-deceased by a brother Charles Robinson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Chiquola Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Powell and Rev. Bill Ellison officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 1 PM Wednesday. The family is at the home of her sister, Martha Butler, 14 N.
