Fred Ouzts
Ware Shoals – Wilmer Fred Ouzts, 94 of 11 Green Acres Drive, husband of Ola Cook Ouzts died Sunday, November 08, 2009 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood.
Born in Greenwood County he was a son of the late Wilmer E. Ouzts and Ada Still Ouzts. He was retired from Riegel Textile Corporation, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was an active member of the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church serving as Deacon, Sunday school teacher, R.A. leader, training union, member of the ADY senior club, senior sports class, was a mason and enjoyed travel, fishing, camping, bowling, square dancing, watching baseball and football and nascar racing.
In addition to his loving wife of 73 years, he is survived by one daughter; Janice Bird and her husband Roger of Mims, Florida, he was predeceased by a brother; William “Shemmie” Outzs and his wife Hall Ouzts.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday at the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 10 A.M. on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Teleios Ministry, 28 Eula St., Greenville, SC 29609 or to Hospice of Greenwood, 408 W.
