Lucille Emerson Gowan, 80, of 12 Sparks Ave., widow of Hobert D. Gowan died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Self Regional Healthcare. She was born in Ware Shoals, a son of the late Joseph Edward and Edna Pressley Emerson. Mrs. Gowan was a member of Ware Shoals United Methodist Church and was retired from Riegel Textile Corp.
Surviving are: one son, Joe Gowan and wife, Margaret, Ware Shoals, one grandson, Joey Gowan and wife Wendy, one great grand child, Riley Gowan, and one step great grand child, Alex Havola all of Johnson City, Tenn.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 pm at Ware Shoals United Methodist Church with Rev. Tina Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Marvin Adams, Uwe Klauck, Billy Sprouse, Robert Hall, Randy McLean, and Grady Davis.
The family will be at the home of her son, Joe, 12 White Oak Circle and will receive friends at the church, 1-2 pm Saturday. Parker-White Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made to www.parkerwhitepruitt.com.
