Dick Slatten

Honea Path – Willie “Dick” Edger Slatten, 82, widower of Lila Brock Slatten, formerly of 806 Brook Street, died Monday, August 24, 2009 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Newt and Emma Owens Slatten. He was of the Baptist Faith, retired from Riegel Textile Co. and was a veteran of the US Army, WWII.

Surviving are: one brother, Amos Slatten of Anderson and one sister Barbara Davis of Honea Path. He was predeceased by a brother M.A. Slatten and a sister Oneta Whitt.

Funeral services will be held at 4P.M. Wednesday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Slatten and Josh Slatten officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 – 3:30 P.M. at Pruitt Funeral Home. The family is at the residence of a sister, 504 Trussell Street, Honea Path.
