Martha Cox

Ware Shoals – Martha Sue Abrams Cox, 72 of 9548 Hwy. 252, widow of Carl Kenneth Cox died Monday at her home.

Born in Laurens county she was a daughter of the late Thomas George Abrams and Grace Simmons Abrams. She was retired from School District 51 and was a very active member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and a member of the WMU and the Naomi-Bible Book- Ruth Sunday School Class.

Surviving are one son; Eric Cox of Ware Shoals, two daughters; Christie Cox Finley of Ware Shoals and Shannon Cox Daniel of Greenwood, three sisters; Helen Chastain and Dorothy Mattison of Ware Shoals and Glenna Hammond of Laurens, two grandchildren Jason Cox and Nick Ferguson, four step-grandchildren; Brannon and Briana Daniel and Tori and Jennifer Finley, one greatgrandchild; Carson Cox. She was predeceased by a grandson;William Adam Bradberry.

Graveside services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Ostrom officiating. The family is at the home and will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com.
