Nancy Smith

Honea Path – Nancy Marie Ashley Smith, 76, widow of John W. Smith, of 513 Sherwood Ave. died Friday, July 17, 2009 at the Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Abbeville County she was a daughter of the late John Guy and Audrey Martin Ashley. She was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church, a homemaker, and was formerly employed by Chiquola Mfg. Co.

Surviving are a son Ricky G. Smith of Honea Path, a daughter, Sandra S. Ross and husband John of Anderson, a sister, Rose A. Fields of Honea Path, and three grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, and Bryan Ross all of Anderson. She was pre-deceased by four brothers, Jerry W. Ashley, Randy N. Ashley, Blake Ashley, and John Ashley, and a sister, Blanche Ashley.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday at Chiquola Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Haynes and Rev. Ronnie Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Sunday at Chiquola Baptist Church prior to the service.
