Tommy Leverette
Honea Path – Holley Thomas “Tommy” Leverette, 83, widower of Sybil Knight Leverette, of 16 Washington Cr., died Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood.
Born in Toccoa, Ga., he was a son of the late Holley and Mary Thompson Leverette. He was a member of Chiquola United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Honea Path Civitan Club, had served as a Honea Path City Councilman, and was an active member of the BHP Band Booster Club for many years. He retired as Personnel Manager of the Springs Industries Chiquola Plant. He was employed for many years in textiles having worked at Chiquola Mill, M. Lowenstein & Sons, Orr Lyons Mills, Clark Schwebel, and Chiquola Mfg. Co.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Leverette of Honea Path; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Washington of Columbus, Ga.; and a grandson, Nick Wiles of Honea Path.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jones Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
