Shirley L. Hughes


Shirley L. Minor Hughes, 67, of 104 Oakland Ave. wife of Jimmie L. Hughes died July 4, 2009 at Abbeville Area Medical Center. She was born in Abbeville a daughter of Mary Ashley Minor and the late Joe B. Minor. She was a homemaker and was of the Mormon Faith.

Surviving besides her mother of Newark Del., are two sons Jimmy C. Hughes and Johnny Joe Hughes both of Ware Shoals, two daughters Tammy H. Hughes of Abbeville and Donna H. Johnson of Waterloo. Two sister Barbara Snow and Nancy Smith both of Newark Del. , nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 3pm Tuesday, July 7, at Parker-White Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
