Gayle McClellan

Honea Path – Glenda Gayle Strickland McClellan, 65, widow of Thomas (Tony) McClellan, of 18 Polly St. died Saturday, July 04, 2009 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Abbeville County she was a daughter of the late John Otto and Mildred Brooks Strickland. She was a charter member of Austin Road Baptist Church, and a graduate of Dixie High School and Erskine College. Completed Graduate Studies at the University of South Carolina. She was a member of the O.E.S. Belton Chapter # 105 and Past Worthy Matron of the Honea Path Chapter #159 of the O.E.S. She was also a past employee of the Honea Path Police Department as dispatcher, and was employed for over 30 years by the Milliken Co.

Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly McClellan of Honea Path, and Kathy McCullough and husband Billy of Belton, a brother, Tildon Stickland and wife Ann of Honea Path, a sister, Betty Evans and husband Troy of Ninety Six, and two grandchildren, LcpL Heath McCullough and wife, Tiffiny of Jacksonville, NC, and Nichole McCullough Watson and husband Marcus of Charleston.

Funeral services will be held at 5 P.M. Tuesday at Austin Road Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Slatten and Mr. Rickey Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
