John Ables

Honea Path – John William Ables, 90, widower of Ruth Hanks Ables, of 6109 Keowee Rd., died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at his home.

Born in Abbeville County he was a son of the late William McGill and Ella Lee Smith Ables. He was a member and former deacon of Keowee Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II. He was retired from Park-Davis Co. and was a farmer.

He was the last member of his immediate family and is survived by a niece and four nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, James Vernon Ables and a sister Belle Ables Mcalister.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday at Keowee Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Mize officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
