Corrie Whitfield

Honea Path – Corrie Ellen Harvey Whitfield, 86, widow of James Curtis Whitfield, of 3009 Earl Shirley Rd., died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at AnMed Health Center in Anderson.

Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Jerry Barney Sr. and Lidie Jane Balentine Harvey. She was formerly of 119 Maryland Ave. She was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church, a homemaker, and had worked in the Lunch Room at Watkins School.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Smith and husband Archie and Mary Jane Haselden and husband Tommy, both of Honea Path; two grandsons, Mitch Smith and wife Annette and Chad Smith and wife Angie both of Honea Path; and three great-grandchildren, Magan Smith, Austin Cooley and Erica Smith. She was pre-deceased by a grandson, Heath Haselden and two brothers, William Henry Harvey and Jerry Barney Harvey, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Culbertson officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service. The family is at the home of her daughter, Patricia Smith, 3009 Earl Shirley Rd.
