Joseph Ray Ashley

Honea Path – Mr. Joseph Ray Ashley, 79, of 400 W. Oak Drive Ext., husband of Pinkie Ruth Bice Ashley, died Monday, February 16, 2009 at his home.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Ernest McCall and Annie Smith Ashley. He was a member of Keowee Baptist Church, a veteran in the U.S. Army, Korean War and was retired from Riegel Textiles Corporation.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: one son, Mike Ashley; one daughter, Shelia Norris; one brother, Cecil Ashley all of Honea Path; one granddaughter (raised in the home) Missy Ashley of Belton.

He was predeceased by a brother Gary Ashley.

Funeral Services will be held at 2PM Thursday at Austin Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Slatten and Rev. Boyd Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM on Wednesday at Pruitt Funeral Home.
