John Harris, Sr.
Honea Path – John William Harris, Sr.,88, widower of Martha Lollis Harris, of The Maples, died Thursday, November 20, 2008 at AnMed Health Center in Anderson.
Born in Abbeville County he was a son of the late William Adger and Bessie Culbertson Harris. He was a member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church, the Center Lodge #37 A.F.M., and the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II and was retired from Duke Power Company.
Surviving are one son John “Bill” William Harris, Jr. of Seneca, a special friend, Mrs. Ellen Wright of The Maples, two sisters, Mary Bagwell of Greenville and Elsie Mattison of Donalds. He was pre-deceased by five brothers, Clyde, Roy, Ernest, Truman, and Adger Harris, and three sisters Flossie Burton, Ruth Gambrell, and Frankie Culbertson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
