James C. "Jake" Bishop
, 93 of Fairview Avenue in Ware Shoals went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 14, 2008. He was the husband of the late Helen White Bishop and the son of the late William Edward and Lillie Taylor Bishop. He retired from Riegel Textile after 45 years of service and was a member of the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church. He was a member of Ware Shoals Masonic Lodge #306 and served in the European Theatre during WWII.

Survivors include two daughters, Patsy B. Arnold and husband, Edward of Ware Shoals, Peggy Murden and husband, Bernard, Norfolk, Va, grandchildren, Kimberly M. Kool and husband, Ross, J.Christopher Murden and wife Karen, Jennifer M. Allen and husband Michael , nine great grandchildren and a sister, Sara B. Traynham, Ware Shoals.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 16, 2008, 6-8 pm at Parker-White Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday, November 17 , 2008, 2 pm at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Leon Jones and Rev. Dr. Floyd Parker will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Murden, Ross Kool, Michael Allen, Taylor Kool, Drayton Bishop and Scott Bishop
