William George “Doc” Wilson, Jr.
Honea Path – William George “Doc” Wilson, Jr., 85, of 391 South Shirley Street, widower of Virgie Aileen Getsinger Wilson, died at his home Thursday, November 13, 2008.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late William G. “Willie” Sr., and Marie W. Wilson. He was a member of Barkers Creek Baptist Church and formerly worked for Springs Industries and retired from Riegel Textiles.
Surviving are three daughters, Joyce Alley and husband Eddie of Belton, Jean Gossett and husband Billy of Iva and Mary Higginbotham of Seneca; two sisters, Betsy Roper of Hickory Tavern and Rose Stansell of Anderson; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Lamar Wilson and a sister Effie Jean Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
