Honea Path – Humphries Veldee “Bubba” Paige, 77, of 100 Cox St., died Friday, August 15, 2008 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.

Born in Anderson County he was a son of the late Ellis and Bessie Hughes Paige. He was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired from C. Thompson Cheverolet.

Surviving are a daughter, Sherry Posey and husband Sammy of Honea Path, two step-sons, Weslie Johnson of Piedmont and Terry Johnson of Belton, three sisters, Ella Ruth Wallace of Easley, Dot Rucker of Honea Path, and Frances Paige of Honea Path, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Sue Land.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Culbertson and Rev. Brad Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M. Sunday prior to the service at Pruitt Funeral Home. The family is at the home of his daughter, Sherry Posey, 3427 Highway 252, Honea Path.
