Pauline Clinkscales

Honea Path – Mrs. Pauline Allen Clinkscales, 100, widow of Elmer Ernest Clinkscales, formerly of 130 Barkers Creek Road, died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at National Health Care in Anderson.

Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Mamie Chandler Allen. She was a member of Barkers Creek Baptist Church where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher. She was active in the community, welcoming newcomers and serving as Poll Manager for many years. She was a Red Cross volunteer.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Obie (Rachel) Jones of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Mrs. Anne Miller and husband Ted of Vacaville, Ca., one sister, Mrs. Marie Kelley of Moonville, nine grandchildren, Tim Clinkscales, Ray Clinkscales, Lynn Robertson, Leah Howell, Pat Walton, Ken Jones, Karen Jones, Julie Cowan, and Allen Miller, and twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.. She was pre-deceased by a son, Patrick Harris Clinkscales, and an infant daughter, Winona Allen Clinkscales.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday at Barkers Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Taylor and Rev. Tony Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Pruitt Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 1 P.M. Tuesday. The family is at the home, 123 Barkers Creek Rd.
