Mrs. Ruth Ables

Honea Path – Ruth Eugenia Hanks Ables, 92, wife of John William Ables, of 6109 Keowee Road, died Friday at the Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Anderson County she was a daughter of the late Tillman and Jessie Parnell Hanks. She was a member of Keowee Baptist Church where she was active in the WMU, Bible School, and had taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She was retired from Honea Path Shirt Plant.

Surviving are her husband of the home and numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Sloan and Jack Hanks and two sisters, Vinnie Pruitt and Annie Hanks.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at Keowee Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Mize officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday at Pruitt Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 1 P.M. Monday. The family is at the home. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com.
