Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Jeff Holmes Wood, Sr. and Flora Morgan Wood. He was a member of Ware Shoals Pentecostal Holiness Church, a graduate of Ware Shoals High School Class of 1962. He was employed in construction for many years. He dearly loved his wife, his grandchildren, and his children.
Surviving are three sons, Robert Jeffery Wood, Johnathan Lee Wood (Jenny), and Clarence Anderson “Peanut” Wood, Jr., two daughters, Beth Wood Batson, and Jessica Wood Brock (Jeremy), all of Ware Shoals, a brother, Jeff H. Wood, Jr. (Judy) of Greenwood, three sisters-in-laws, Shirley Wood of Ware Shoals, Annie Beasley and Barbara Patterson, both of Piedmont, twelve grandchildren, Olivia, Ella, Landon, Brendon (Haley), Garrett, Ryleigh, Daniel (Kayla), Emily Kate, Keith, Cheyenne, Jack, and Jett, and three great-grandchildren, Sammy, Clara Ann, and Jax.
In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by two brothers, William Clifford Wood, Sr. and James Luther Wood.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel, Ware Shoals with Rev. Byron Wood officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will be at the home and will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Parker-White Funeral Home, Ware Shoals.
