Patsy Spelts Sheehy

Honea Path – Patricia “Patsy” Spelts Sheehy, 79, wife of James Robert “Jim” Sheehy, of Carslie Drive, died Thursday, April 9, 2026 at her home after a 35 year struggle with a compromised immune system which developed into Lymphoma seven years ago.

Born on March 30, 1947 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Furman Cleo and Sara Mae Keasler Spelts. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church  where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Exodus Sunday School Class and the Women of Faith. Patsy was a 1965 graduate of Honea Path High School where she played the clarinet in the Marching Band and was a Majorette for her four high school years. She retired after 40 years as a Dental Assistant for Dr. R.O. Carlisle and was a long time Meals on Wheels driver in Honea Path having following a tradition started by her parents when they retired for health reasons.

Patsy enjoyed working in her yard, especially with her flowers and her Hydranea garden. Despite many health issues she continued to enjoy life, friends, and her grandchildren every day

Surviving are her husband, Jim Sheehy, two daughters, Jennifer Ruh (Chris) of Rock Hill, Elizabeth Brackett (Brick) of Charlotte, NC, and a son, Brian Sheehy (Christin) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and four grandchildren, Jackson, Parker, Emme, and Ben.

A Celebration of Patsy’s life will be held at 2 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Honea Path, with Rev. Shannon Bullion and Rev. Gayle Beaudrot officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service in the Trinity United Methodist Church Social Hall.
