Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late James Furman and Myrtle Taylor Magaha. She was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church and previously attended Barkers Creek Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She was twice married, first to the late Ronnie Fields Gaddis.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are: her son, Patrick (Christy) Gaddis of Honea Path; a step-daughter, Michelle (Ansel) Bell of Honea Path; her brother, Charles (Miriam) Magaha of Buckstand; four grandchildren, Dalton (Emily) Ashley, Landon Gaddis, Kendall Gaddis and Zoey Price; and two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Kate Ashley and Drayton Ashley.
Mrs. Mattison was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; two sisters, Ruth Williams and Sybil Louise Magaha; and a step-daughter, Shelia Meyer.
The family would like to express special thanks to Michelle Bell and Wanda Motes for their help during Mrs. Mattison’s illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday March15, 2026 at Barkers Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Phillips and Rev. Norman Black officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home and will receive friends from 2-3 P.M. Sunday at the church prior to the service.
