Born in Greenwood, he was a son of the late Herman Rudolph and Betty Smith McKee.
A 1967 Graduate of Ware Shoals High School he later graduated from Lander College. He was a retired business owner.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin Herman McKee (Connie) of Waterloo and James Bradley McKee of Williamston, five grandchildren, Isabelle McKee, Griffin McKee, Tabatha McKee Merritt (Daniel), Paiten McKee, and Tyler Smith, and a great granddaughter, Jolene Merritt.
