Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Winfield Fulton and Mary Ellen Walker Brown. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and had served as a member of the choir, pulpit committee, and on the social committee. She was a graduate of Dixie High School and was retired from Capsugel of Greenwood.
Surviving are her husband, Dan of the home, her daughter, Rene O. Bouknight of Ware Shoals, three sisters, Lorraine Cheshire, and Ruby Warren both of Ware Shoals, and Maxine Brown of Newberry, three grandsons, Steven Bouknight (Melissa), Danny Spence (Monica), and Ryan Spence, and eight great-grandchildren, Aden, Carson, Brody, Harrison, Hanna, Lee, Noah, and Landon.
She was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Debbie O. Hurt, two brothers, Jerry Brown and Sonny Brown, three sisters, Mary Frances Sheppard, Glendel Ashley, and Laura Osborne.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, 230 Morgan Road, Hodges, SC 29653 with Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM at Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
