Born in West Columbia, he was a son of Libby Lesesne Newman and the late John Jasper Newman. He was a graduate of Airport High in West Columbia, and worked in facilities management for IVC of Greenville.
In addition to his wife Debra, his mother, Libby, Mr. Newman is survived by his son: Caleb Newman of Columbia; his daughter Samantha Kittrell; two step-sons: Daniel Ray Gibson (Jessie) of Cowpens and Anthony Weeks (Brittany Alverson) of Pauline; one brother: Andy L. Newman (Kelly) of West Columbia; and eight grandchildren: Rhett, Stella, Bentley, Mackenzie, Madison, Riley, Ariea and Grayson.
He was preceded in death by his father John Jasper newman and his brother Tommy Newman.
