Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Rufus and Myrtie James. He was a member of Honea Path First Assembly of God, and was retired from his work as a Slasher Operator for Clark-Schwabel.
In addition to his wife of the home, Mr. James is survived by his son Christopher J Estes, Sr. of Anderson, his brother Jimmy James of Anderson, ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Thresia Estes Brock, three brothers: Bobby Joe James, Jack James, and Billy Ray James; and two sisters: Nellie Aiken and Margaret.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM on Monday, December 22 at Pruitt Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Eastview Cemetery at 3:30 PM with Rev. Paul Cooper officiating.
