Born in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Earl Manning and Helen Riser Counts. He was a member and deacon of Princeton Baptist Church. He was employed by Riegel Textile where he worked for 8 years and later retired after 28 years of service from The Monsanto Co.
Surviving are his wife of the home, two sons, David Wayne Counts of Ware Shoals and Robert Michael Counts (Jennifer) of Ware Shoals, a grandson, Isaiah, and a sister, Linda Cansler of Simpsonville.
He was predeceased by his parents, and a brother, Jerry Riser Counts.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM at Princeton Baptist Church, 18878 US-76, Honea Path, SC 29654 on Saturday, November 1, 2025 with Rev. Andy Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 3302 US-25, Hodges, SC 29653.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Parker-White Funeral Home, 17 N Greenwood Ave Ext, Ware Shoals, SC 29692.
