Born in Piedmont, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Clark Spearman. She was the granddaughter of the late Meddie and Grover Clark who she lived with until she was 6 years old. She always loved her church and read her bible daily. She was a member of West Main Street Church of God in Ware Shoals, and was formerly a member of Harmony United Methodist Church. She worked at Riegel Textile Co. in Fork Shoals and later retired from Riegel Mill in Ware Shoals. After retirement she worked at Small World Daycare. She loved cooking, making quilts, reading, and keeping children. She was married to JB for 65 years.
Surviving are three sons: Jim Brookie (Karalee) of Cleveland, Roger Brookie of Ware Shoals, Chris Brookie (Lilian) of San Antonio, FL; three daughters: Ann McElvain (Mack) of Rockport, TX, Gail Keown (Bill) of Pawleys Island, and Peggy Reynolds (Ken) of Abbeville; 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by two brothers: B.F. Spearman and Jakie Spearman, two sisters: Roxie Trimble and Janie Spearman, and one granddaughter: Mary Ann Brookie.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Harmony UMC with Rev. Janice Hughey, Rev. Byron Wood, and Rev. Donnie Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Hodges.
The family is at the home of her daughter Peggy Reynolds on Old Hodges Road, Abbeville. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM at Parker-White Funeral Home Ware Shoals on Monday, July 21, 2025.
