Born in Charleston, SC, she was a daughter of the late Homer James Steward and the late Essie Sweat Murray, and was raised by her late aunt, Margaret Sweat Dantzler (Carl) She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are her husband Tom of the home, a son, Tillman Stevens (Michelle) of Ware Shoals, a daughter, Karla Ray (Ronnie) of Virginia Beach, VA, four brothers, David Steward (Betty Ann), Jerry Steward (Nancy), Bruce Murray (Donna), and Donald Murray (Evan), nine grandchildren, Marcus (Kearie), Josh, Jeffrey, Teddy, Kyra, Keaton, Andrew (Cheyanne), Jessica, and Gatlin, and twelve great grandchildren, Joanna, Meadow, Willow, Rayne, Elijah, Desmond, Finn, Karma, Joshy, Charlie, Damon, and Maisy.
She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Carol Steward, and a grandson, Tillman “Ted: Edward Stevens.
Family memorial services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, May 24 at Friendship Baptist Church, Honea Path with Rev. Hunter Ramsey officiating.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM at Friendship Baptist Church prior to the service. Memorial contributions should be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 220 Friendship Church Road, Honea Path, SC 29654.
