Born in Anderson County, he was a son of Mildred Gambrell Alewine and the late Roy Lee Alewine, Sr. He was employed at McCoy Lumber in Honea Path for more than 25 years. Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching NASCAR and WWE.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Belton are: his son, Ross Matthew Alewine of Greer; his step-son, Joseph (Katie) Engram of Anderson; his step-daughter, Misty (Paul) Morgano of Ware Shoals; his brother, Roy Lee (Delina) Alewine, Jr of Belton; his sister, Debbie (Chris) Rollins of Taylors; four grandchildren, Carson Alewine, Kennedy Alewine, Sophie Engram and Mason Morgano; nieces and nephews, Austin Alewine, Mercedes (Jack) Spinning, Eric Ballard and Gracie Rothrock; a great-nephew, Benton Rothrock; a great-niece, Ila Spinning; and his former wife of 35 years and dear friend, Tammie Alewine.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Justin Campbell AND Mr. Roy Lee Alewine, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.
