Born in Honea Path, he was a son of the late William Haynie and Ellie Bagwell Simpson. He attended Friendship Baptist Church and was retired from BASF after 35 years of service.
Mr. Simpson is survived by his son: Brandon W. Simpson and wife Chris of Anderson, two granddaughters: Lila and Chloe, a step-daughter: Mandy, two brothers: Harold Simpson and wife Dot and Tommy Simpson, both of Honea Path; two sisters: Martha Duncan and husband Floyd of Pelzer and Joyce Stone and husband Jamie of Anderson. He was predeceased by a step-son, Phil.
