Born in Anderson, he was a son of Frankie Eugene Alewine and the late Patti Yvonne Bagwell Alewine. He was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church, and worked as an automotive painter, finisher, and engine builder.
David was one of a kind. A man with many words. He knew how to make anyone’s bad day into a good day. When he smiled, that said everything he was thinking. David had a big heart and would help anyone in every situation and wouldn’t ask for anything in return. His love for racing was like no other. He spent most of the day in his shop building and rebuilding motors, and most of every weekend at the track. He loved Reeses Cups, a big ole cheeseburger and a cold Pepsi. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son and friend.
In addition to his wife Crystal of 20 years, David is survived by four daughters: Haley Alewine, Madison Alewine, Alexis Alewine, and Madison “Madi” Leonard, all of Honea Path; his brother Randall Todd Bagwell of Ten Mile, TN; and one grandchild: Piper Hart-Minor.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025 at Eastview Cemetery with Rev. Josh Phillips officiating.
The family is at the home, and will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday at Pruitt Funeral Home, prior to the graveside service. Messages of condolence may be left for them at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com.
