He was born, raised, and lived on the same property in Honea Path his entire life, he was a son of the late Johnny Melvin and Mary Leila Poore McCoy. He attended Austin Road Baptist Church, and was retired from his work as a Press Operator at Packaging Corporation of America after over 30 years. He was a veteran of the South Carolina Army National Guard. He was an avid Clemson Tiger and Atlanta Braves fan and he rarely missed any of his grandson’s baseball games.
Mr. McCoy is survived by two sons: Brian Keith McCoy and wife Christie of Honea Path and Christopher Kevin McCoy and wife Sheila of Easley; one brother Joe McCoy and wife Lynda of Belton; three grandchildren: Autumn McCoy of New York, Jenson McCoy and Mayson McCoy, both of Honea Path; one great-grandchild: Remy Whalen of NewYork; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday December 12, 2024 at Austin Road Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Slatten officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
