Charlie Lee McClain

Ware Shoals – Charlie Lee McClain, 80, of Log Cabin Drive, died Thursday, December 5, 2024 at his home.

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late William Newton and Mabel Davis McClain. He was of the Baptist Faith and had been employed at the Beattie Plant of Simpsonville. He was a veteran of the South Carolina Army National Guard. He loved his girls and was proud of his boys. His favorite pastimes were chicken shows, hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. He always enjoyed family meals with Southern cooking.

Surviving are two daughters, Brandi Roper (Daniel) of Liberty, Jessica Ross of Ware Shoals, two sons, Greg McClain (Cindy) of Cassatt,  and Bryon McClain of Lugoff, a brother, Jimmy McClain of Ware Shoals, two sisters, Marie Nelson of Powdersville and Joyce McClain of Honea Path, six grandchildren, April (Wesley), Ariel, Star (Austin), Jacey, Dane, Abel, and Emersen, and three great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Marina, and Marcus, and a special friend, Will Dyal (Caitlin) and their girls, Eliza and McKinleigh and their son, Little Will.

He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Dale and Marshall McClain, and three sisters, Katherine Brock, Gayle McClain, and Mary Harper.

Graveside services will be held at 1 PM Friday, December 13, 2024 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
