Dee Loner

Iva – Tenrica Dee Loner, 51, wife of Rev. Davis Gregg Loner, of West Green Street, passed away Wednesday November 6, 2024 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of Ann Brown Williams and the late Preston “Buddy” Williams. She was the First Lady of Mission Baptist Church in Iva and truly loved her church. She was very active in the church, teaching Sunday School, serving on the church counsel, planning events, and conducting the first vacation bible school at the church. Dee graduated Erskine College with a B.A. degree in early childhood education and later received her Masters Degree at Concordia University. Dee was a dedicated school teacher prior to her illness. She simply loved to teach. She served Anderson School District 2 and Honea Path Elementary School for 20 1/2 years.  She was always compassionate and caring and genuinely loved all her children. She was a proud member and former President of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority at District 2. She was the former Director of all day 4K at Honea Path Elementary School. Wanda Wilson was her faithful longtime assistant. Dee loved all the teachers, faculty, staff and students, especially her special needs kids.

Surviving in addition to her devoted husband of 27 years of the home are: her mother, Ann Brown Williams; her son, Tenrice Loner of the home; her daughter, Abigale Loner; her sister, Dana; and her beloved puppy, BayBay.

She was preceded in death by her father; her PawPaw, Bill Long, who was like a father to her; and her Nannie, Gladys Brown.
