Nadine Stanton

Ware Shoals – Nadine Sturges Wilber Stanton, 86, died on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Hospice House of Laurens County.

Born in Duanesburge, NY, she was a daughter of the late Frederick M. and Naomi Sturges Wilber. She attended Waterloo United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Duanesburge High School. She retired from NYS Department of Transportation and moved from NY to SC to enjoy the warmer weather. She loved Volks Walking and traveling all over the country. She visited all of the National Parks within the USA. In her younger days she was a horse lover and participated in Barrel Racing at the Painted Pony Ranch and Frosty Acres Rodeo in upstate NY.

Surviving are two daughters: Bernadine Payton (Mike) of Ware Shoals and Janine Horan (Mike) of Altamont, NY and six grandchildren: Stacey, Joseph, Jason, Sierra, Michael, and Shane and twelve great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frederick M. and Naomi Sturges Wilber, a brother, Malcolm Wilber, a granddaughter, Colleen M. Rogers and a grandson, Lukas M. Welsch.

Memorial services will be held at 11AM at Grove Community, Delanson, NY on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Memorials should be made to the Greenwood County Humane Society, 2820 Airport Road, Greenwood, SC 29629. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
