Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Bessie Mae Wells Weathers. She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed gospel music. She was retired from Richloom. She was affectionately known as “Nanny” by her 7 grands and 11 great-grands.
Surviving are two sons, Frankie Ray Chastine (Eva) of Ware Shoals and David Earl Chastine of Greenwood, a brother, Jessie Lee Weathers of Waterloo, three sisters, Mildred Hollingsworth of Laurens, Opal Madell Kelley of Laurens, and Betty Jane Parker of Greenwood, seven grandchildren, Andy Chastine, Anna Chastine, Chris Chastine (Amanda), Matt Chastine (Britney), Deven Chastine (Haylee), Katelyn Chastine, and Kayla Roberts (Daniel), eleven great-grandchildren, Rae-Ana, Kamryn, Adriana, Aubrey, Aalyssa, Sawyer, Kylee, Madey, Krystyn, Barrett, and Jase.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a daughter, Paula Annette Moss, four brothers, William Earl Weathers, Horace Ed Weathers, Mansel Eugene Weathers, and James Robert Weathers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 2 PM at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel, Ware Shoals with Rev. Yvonne Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
