Born in Antigo Wisconsin, she was a daughter of William Schlundt and the late Charlene Schroeder Schlundt.
Polly was an avid reader and an amazing cook which was her lifelong hobby. Her children, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren always looked forward to their birthday suppers because she always made their favorite meals. Every summer, they were blessed with her famous chocolate chip cookies and caramel bars to take on vacations along with her one of a kind strawberry jelly.
Polly was also a dedicated wife and mother for over fourty-eight years. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Pinkney Buchanan, two sons, Brad Buchanan (Meredith) of Hodges and Josh Buchanan (Valerie Brooke) of Greenwood, her father William Schlundt and step-mother, Barbara Schlundt, of Marietta, Georgia, a brother, Pat Schlundt, ana a sister, Paula Mansfield.
Polly was blessed with five grandchildren, Gabe and Isaiah Buchanan of Greenwood, Abby Bagwell (Jackson) of Ninety-Six, Hannah Stumbo (Gabe) of Simpsonville, and Jordan Buchanan of Hodges. They will all miss her and will forever cherish Grandma’s annual pumpkin carvings and her homemade Christmas cookie decorating nights along with their regular weekend sleepovers at Garndma’s’.
She was also blessed with three great-granddaughters who held a special place in her heart and put a smile on her face everytime she saw them. Although Alvia, Ada, and Annie Bagwell knew her for only a brief period of their lives, they will get to know Grandma as we all continue to keep her memory alive by sharing stories, pictures, and videos fo the best Grandma anyone could ever ask for.
