Born on April 16, 1934 in Cherokee County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Jami Blanton Collins. He was a member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Director for 50 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Chesnee High School and was retired from the Milliken Gayley Plant of Marietta.

Surviving are his wife, Jennie Sue, two sons, Darrell Wayne Collins (Sherri) of Liberty and Brian Keith Collins (Jill) of Summerville, four sisters, Jacqueline Bostic, Linda Duckett (William), Diane Brown, and Sylvia Bailey, all of Chesnee, six grandchildren, Carla Skiba, Hailey Babb (Josh), Rachel Messer (Stephen), Hannah Champion (Kyle), Rebekah Collins, Cory Booth and five great-grandchildren, Lainey, Lillie, Jack, Arthur, Rylie.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Judy Lorraine Donalds, and a brother, Arthur Bates Collins.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Moody and Dr. Josh Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 PM on Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service.
