Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Thomas Ansel and Ruth Few Hudson. He was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church and retired from Capital Bank. He was a veteran of the SC Air National Guard. Dean graduated from Taylors High School and then North Greenville University. He then attended and graduated from Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He served as Vice President of Citizens & Southern Bank, first in Greenville SC and then in Orangeburg SC. Later in life he served at The Commercial Bank in Honea Path SC.
Surviving are: two sons, Scott (Renai) Hudson of Greenwood and Robin (Zachary) Hudson of Savannah GA; his daughter, Cheryl (Gil) Cade of Honea Path; his brother, Frankie (Trisha) Hudson of Powdersville; his sister, Sharon (Junior) Styles of Liberty; four grandchildren, Courtney Ann (Zach) Woodham, Jake Cade (Tessa), Kaitlyn Hudson, and Kelsey (Kaine) Bannister; three great-grandchildren, Oliver Kai Bannister, Aria Bannister, and Jones Woodham; his honorary great-grandchild, Osi Alverez, and one more expected in November, Hudson Ann Woodham.

Graveside services will be held at 1 P.M. Monday, September 9, 2024 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dr. Josh Phillips officiating.
The family is at their respective homes and will speak with friends and family at the graveside prior to the service Monday. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Honea Path First Baptist Church, 100 South Main Street, Honea Path, SC 29654.
