Pauline Bannister Hanley

Ware Shoals -  Pauline Bannister Hanley, 96, of Turkey Creek Drive, widow of Roy Lee Hanley, died Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at her home.

Born in the Saylors Crossroads section of Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Marvin I. and Clara Gentry Bannister. She was affectionately known as “Mama Dank” She was a member of Welcome Presbyterian Church and was a retired seamstress having worked at Oxford Shirt Plant of Greenwood.

She is survived by five daughters, Shelby Laughlin of Greenwood, Ann Bowen of Ware Shoals, Sylvia Crittendon (Buddy) of Hodges, Judy McGill of Donalds, and Vickie Cowart (Bobby) of Ware Shoals, a daughter-in-law, Helen Hanley of Ware Shoals, a sister Maxine Case of VA, fifteen grandchildren, Dana, Danielle, Kenny, Chris, Paula, DeAnn, Shannon, Lee, Jim, Mike, April, Amber, Lynn, Sabrina, and Theressa, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, Kaylin, Klay, Ken, Tristan, Zoe, Erin, Kelsy, Emma, Eva, Nathan, Noah, Aden, Kara, Faith, Sami, Katie, Brittnee, Trevor, Gavin, Corey, Blake, Mikalyn, Kade, Anabelle, Jesse, Royston, Jeremy, Dylan, and sixteen great-great grandchildren, Wrenly, Emmie, Tatlee, Braleigh, Sabrina, Evelyn, Rhylee, Veronica, Walker Hudson, Ayden, Madison, Kai, Brayden, Cameron, and Charlie.

In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a son, Danny Roy Hanley, a daughter, Sandra Hanley, a brother, John William Bannister, two sisters, Helen Bratcher and Alma Hall, and a grandson, Chip.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024 at the Ware Shoals First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mark Lowe, Rev. Wayne Wicker, and Rev. Mark Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
